As the agent claims interest, Celtic reportedly makes first contact in an effort to make a third January signing

The name Mohamed “Afsha” Magdy has been brought up in connection with Celtic once more after his agency stated that the Bhoys are interested in signing Magdy for the month of January.

Under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou, the Bhoys enjoy doing business early in the month of January, and it appears that they will do so once again.

In the beginning of this month, Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi agreed to sign with Postecoglou on a free transfer from Vissel Kobe. Postecoglou is once again interested in competing in the J1 League.

Saturday marked the day that Celtic made their second signing of January when they announced that they had reached an agreement with CF Montreal to acquire right defender Alistair Johnston.

Even though the transfer window won’t open for over a month, Celtic already has plans in place to bring in two new players, and there’s still a chance that they’ll bring in a third.

Celtic once more expressed interest in Mohamed ‘Afsha’ Magdy.

The name Mohamed “Afsha” Magdy is one that supporters of Celtic will be familiar with.

Back in the year 2020, Afsha’s representative mentioned to the Daily Record that Celtic had presented them with an offer to sign the playmaker.

Aisha’s agent then announced in 2021 that Celtic, Besitkas, and Galatasaray were competing with each other for the rights to sign the Al-Ahly top player.

It is now time for the 2022 edition of this rumor, with Football Scotland saying that Celtic have made “initial contact” to attempt and sign Afsha. This rumor comes at the same time as the 2022 edition of this rumor.

Celtic are now in a battle for Afsha’s signature in January with clubs from the English Championship and Turkey, who are also interested in the player.

Agent Maher Nawfal is reported to have said that there is, in fact, “interest from Celtic,” but both he and Afsha will now take some time to consider their choices.

Afsha, who is 26 years old, plays primarily as a number 10 but is versatile enough to also play on either flank.

Afsha, who stands only 5 feet and 6 inches tall, has contributed to Al-success Ahly’s in 146 matches by scoring 29 goals and providing 32 assists.

It is possible that Afsha’s technical abilities will appeal to Postecoglou, but the situation is getting close to becoming a “now or never” scenario.

The Egyptian will turn 27 in March, and if a move to Celtic has not been finalized by the end of January, then we can only assume that it is not going to happen as he comes closer to 30 years old.
