Joe Hart, the goalkeeper for Celtic, praised Son Heung-min, the forward for Tottenham Hotspur, on Instagram for his contribution to South Korea’s advancement to the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Hart, who played with Son at Tottenham, has referred to the 30-year-old as a “hero” for his contribution to South Korea’s victory over Portugal on Friday. This victory came at the hands of South Korea.
In the concluding match of their group at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, South Korea prevailed over Portugal by a score of 2-1.
Hwang Hee-chan scored the game-winning goal for the Asian giants just one minute into the additional time that was added on, after receiving a pass from Son.
In the other match in Group H, Uruguay defeated Ghana 2-0, but ultimately finished in third place in terms of goals scored.
Although Son has not had a particularly enjoyable experience at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar thus far, he played an important part in the goal that advanced South Korea.
At this point in the World Cup, South Korea will compete against Brazil in the Round of 16.
South Korea will have a very difficult time beating Brazil, who are one of the top favorites to win the World Cup. It will be very challenging for South Korea to win against the team that won the World Cup in the past.
However, considering how the Asian team scored the game-winning goal against Portugal, it is clear that they are capable of accomplishing anything, and Brazil must avoid becoming complacent.
Joe Hart made a good impression on Son Heung-min of Tottenham, who is from South Korea.
